Subscriptions in the first three months

Stefan Alexiev co-founded Raw Juicery 10 years ago with a mission to make first class health convenient with their selection of delicious cold-pressed juices and unique elixirs.

While wholesale to community retailers had been their focus in the earlier days, they started to see a huge uptick in online, direct-to-consumer sales in the early days of the pandemic. To make shipping fresh juices cost effective, they sold the juices in 10, 15 or 20 packs using a build-a-box experience developed in-house to let customers select their juices and tonics.

With online sales booming they knew it was time to introduce subscriptions to start building dependable monthly revenue and making the purchasing experience better for loyal customers.

The Problem: How to let people subscribe and manage their boxes?

The custom solution the RawJuicery team built was beautiful, with a progress bar that filled up with tiny images of each juice as you selected it. It was easy to switch between box sizes as  you made your selections. Unfortunately it was not something that would just plug and play easily into a subscription app. 

The team looked into options but couldn’t find one that would let them keep the experience they knew their customers loved. They needed to allow the customer to buy a subscription in the same seamless way while offering a good way to manage it going forward without generating an unbearable amount of customer support requests for changes to their box selections. 

“We searched everywhere for something customizable that was even remotely close to what we had built and planned, but we could not find anything. We had pretty much given up on the idea. We thought the only way we can make it work is if we invest in building the whole subscription program from scratch, and that type of risky investment was just not in the cards for us. A Partnership with Awtomic to launch subscriptions

At Awtomic, we love partnering with brands to expand the capabilities of our platform. With a few tweaks that are now easily available to all, we enabled the Raw Juciery team to have the flexibility needed to replace their custom build-a-box flow with a styled version of ours that looked almost exactly the same - progress bar and all. 

Customers can now also choose to subscribe and pick a frequency that works for them as part of the flow. Once they’ve purchased, they can login any time and update the selection of juices and tonics in their box.
